Mozart Musical Masterpieces

Posted by: Martin   in Classical Music Articles

I’d like to have the classical music community join me on this page by listing your favorite Mozart Masterpiece. Actually, I’d like you to list more than just a composition piece, but also the background on it as far as you are concerned. Why you like it, and the reason you feel it deserves mention here on this page.

So let’s get started, shall we? I’ll begin by listing one of my favorites of Mozart:

Serenade No. 10 for winds (Gran Partita) in B flat major, K. 361

This is a serenade by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart scored for the use of thirteen instruments. Thought to be composed in 1781 or 1782, it consists of seven very entertaining movements. It’s cool to note that serenades were considered by Mozart’s culture to be the equivalent of our “pop music”day. It was light entertainment, or what you would refer to as, “evening music”. They were usually performed at open-air concerts, or even at guests parties held indoors.

Now it’s your turn!
